Hellbound

"I loved how it came together"

submission: Hellbound
date: December 17, 2005

I think if you were to seperate everything (the music graphics, etc) and analyze them individually, I probably wouldn't be particularly interested (except maybe for the music, I tend to fall for oldschool video game music), but the fact that that was all jumbled up together in the same flash made it perfect. I felt bad for devlin T_T. But yeah, I think what made me really like it was the music, it really got me into it; any site you got it off of?

Author's Response:

Thanks :)

I made the music myself, I think I'll put the modules on my site today ;)

The Undead

"Strangely appealing..."

submission: The Undead

You're obviously very good at Flash, no doubt about that. But as far as this flash goes, I may have been entertained (I particularly liked the first scene with the strange interrogation), but I think the sense of confusion outbalanced that pleasure. Perhaps you could create a link to lead to a site with a small explanation on it (unless it's just a random cartoon like the Salad Fingers series). All in all, I find this work somewhat ambiguous, but still very, um, professional in a sense.

Grave 2

"maybe not an artistic achievement..."

submission: Grave 2
date: April 9, 2005

...but it was definitely good as a first person shooter, which in my opinion, we don't have enough of on NG. There were only two things that bugged me: the fact that the stronger weapons (i.e. shotgun + machine gun) have no ammo limit made the handgun kind of useless. The other thing was the ending, I didn't get it. So yeah, good job, but keep working at it (can't wait to see the third one).

Author's Response:

Thanks for the good review. You'll have to wait a while for the 3rd one because I'm currently working on some really great 2d sidescrollers. Again, thanks for the review.

-Where it Ends-

"lol, those clay people were badass"

submission: -Where it Ends-

well, for clay people anyway. but yeah, nice use of clay animation; I never would have thought to make clay people fight. I'm saying clay a lot. Clay.

-Clay.

LOrd of the CLock

"I love Clockwork Orange"

submission: LOrd of the CLock
date: April 6, 2005

I liked the concept, and you managed to get a couple of good laughs here and there. The animation, however, was pretty average. But, all in all, I liked it. One and a half thumbs up :-P

- P.S. I don't know if you know this (you probably do), but the original Clockwork Orange Novel actually ended with the main character being cured (for real), but it was due to the editors and such that it ended up with a fairly cynical ending. Anyway, if you pick up a newer cop of it, it usually has a 21st chapter. Um, yeah.

Halo: Funny Situations

"You're from Québec too, eh?"

date: April 4, 2005

I too live in Qc, and your accent made it funnier. But yeah, the flash was good (good sound, good graphics, etc) but there was one main thing that was sort of bothering me : the "du tu doo tu doo" (w/e) got kind of annoying after a while. But all in all, I likedit, so good job.

It's nice to know there's some Québecois people making movies.

"OMFG CLOWN!"

That was just too awesome, I loved the part with the clown. Oh, and the music really added to it, especially in the end.

God I love that clown.

The Performance Artist

"I myself am in a Fine Arts program at school..."

date: January 2, 2005

...and it's true. I've seen so many "uber-significant" paintings and sculptures and the like in the last 6 months, MOST of which were full of B.S. ( I have to admit some artisits know what they're talking about).

I think the worst I've ever seen was this Art Deco exhibition.

But yeah anyway, this flash just reminded me of that. I guess I liked it cuz of that.

The graphics were pretty average.

Yep.

"Make more of this genre"

What I liked best about this flash was definitely the coordination made with the music. The song went perfectly with the flash. Old fat guys who give out candy creep me out. This one was no exception.
